Experience on Images of Singapore. Gomathi's On 15 November 2010, Monday, We headed towards Sentosa. We went to the Images of Singapore for a better view on how Singapore was in the past. We walked through the Images of Singapore. We also got see how City Hall and Boat Quay was in the past. We took alot of pictures of the places. We also learnt about all four races and their culture in Singapore. We have only read about the four different cultures in Singapore but we have not seen how they celebrate their festivals and how they pray. Through this journey we saw how they celebrate their festivals and what is the meaning of their festivals. We got to see all four temples. This journey helps us to have a better view about all the four races in Singapore. After this trip we had alot of ideas of how to do our LPDX project in a interesting way. Afiqah's My whole experience on our trip to Sentosa, Images of Singapore was fabulous. I had the greatest time of my life. The money that I spent to get into the Sentosa and the Images of Singapore was worth it. When I got inside the museum, I felt that I was back in the past life. Everything in the museum was like real. The first thing that we had to do was to watch a short movie about Singapore. And then we move on into the museum itself. I had the greatest time of our life because I got to take pictures and got to know the living of the Singapore past history. It was interesting to see the pictures of old Singapore and how Singapore developed. And so, that’s my whole experience of my visit to the Sentosa, Images of Singapore. Amirah's
Maya's This was the first time i went to Sentosa after the renovation. It was an amazing sight, we get to sneak a peek at the Universal Studios which was beautiful even though the renovation wasn't finished. We went to the Images Of Singapore, an amazing experience. In that museum itself, they have the 4 races of the past. Basically on the the Malays, Chinese & Indian. We got to know more about the culture of these different races & the past of how it had began. The museum not only have the different culture but we also learnt on the past & present of Singapore. There are different section in the museum, on how each races has their culture, types of celebration, how they live during the olden days & marriages. It nice to go there & understand what the children in the olden days go through during the World War & stuff. These days children of our generation has PSP, XBOX360, computers, MP3s, hand phones & more. Children of this generation are privileged in ways. On how Singapore has changed, it's amazing how Singapore had grown better each day & generation after generation. Singapore has not only become a better place to live in, it's also one of the safest country. I'm glad Singapore has done more than what people have expected. |

Singapore is amazing & beautiful.Images of Singapore is an award winning historical museum exhibits the culture and history of Singapore using multi-media displays, multi-screen theatre presentations and lifesize tableaus depicting major events in Singapore’s history. The Images of Singapore museum is located in Imbiah lookout, Sentosa, Singapore near the Singapore Cable Car stop at Sentosa and the Merlion. The museum offers a chronological history of Singapore from its earliest days to the present. There are numerous exhibitions, covering the pre-British period of Malaysian rule, British colonialism, the founding of colonial Singapore by Thomas Stamfort Raffles, the Japanese occupation, and the post-colonialist era under Singapore’s first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Opened in 1983 as the Pioneers of Singapore Surrender Chambers museum, the museum was extended in 1994 to include a section called Festivals of Singapore and the attraction was rehristened with its present name. Stories of the Sea, a new multi-sensory maritime experience was opened in 2002, but was removed from the museum within the following year when it proved unpopular with guests. The museum was closed in 2003 for a major upgrade and reopened multi-screen special effects show Four Winds of Singapore, a tribute to the national contributions of Singapore’s Chinese, Eurasian Malay and Indian populations. The 2005 renovation won a prestigious Thea Award for “Best Reinvention of a Cultural Heritage Center” in April of 2006. A restaurant and souvenir shop is located inside and at the exit area of the museum.
